Innovation Management Project

Overview

A series of studies have been performed to analyse the development of theories in innovation and technology management.
Technovation
A bibliometric analysis investigated the intellectual pillars of the technology management literature as reported in Technovation. Network analysis tools show that the research agenda of scholars from different parts of the world differ substantially from each other, and such differences may have exacerbated the delays experienced in developing technology management as a respected academic discipline.
Research Policy
Social network analysis techniques are used to investigate the intellectual pillars of the leading journal Research Policy. A cross-level type of analysis provides a comprehensive picture of deeper disciplinary roots, long-term subjects and time-varying discourses. Applying this multi-dimensional view provides insights into hierarchical and interlinked patterns of the evolving scientific discourse. Dominant subjects have formed around a shared common core of literature and this allows the recent changes in themes to be explored relation to possible future work. Last but not least there is significant evidence for the discipline-spanning as well as integrating effects of the scientific discourse within research policy which justifies its characterization as a discipline of its own.
